American Express

Every year, American Express offers Card Members the opportunity to earn 200,000 Membership Rewards points for successfully referring friends.

For this campaign, we chose to target a younger demographic, as they are more open to discussing financial services with friends and family than their older peers.

At the time, American Express’ brand – Realise the Potential – prohibited showing humans, so we illustrated and animated a series of cute, relatable scenarios using animals that thrive in packs.

The campaign results were overwhelmingly positive, with 75% of all referrals over the campaign period using the referral links in our eDMs.
